Well fed faces in a feeding frenzy,
food piled high on every plate.
Take some home in a doggy bag,
leave those veggies that you love to hate.
Children are starving in Ethiopia.
Pompous powerbrokers playing politics
with other people’s lives.
Everyone jumps on the gravy train,
but nobody ever drives.
Children are crying in Somalia.
Sunburnt school kids skipping school,
playing football in the park;
hanging around the shopping malls,
smoking cigarettes for a lark
Children are suffering in Bosnia.
Whingers whining about wasted weekends
spent sheltering from the rain
moaning about doing the housework,
and kids who give them a pain.
Children are dying in Rwanda.
Daily doses of death and destruction,
the games that people play.
We live in the lucky country,
it’s a million miles away
Children are sulking in Sylvania.
